Engineering - Sr. Software QA Engineer

We are seeking seasoned senior software quality assurance engineers with the passion and experience necessary to design and develop test scenarios, build the required test infrastructure and automation as part of the test execution, and support the overall product validation of FireEye's leading edge product suites

Responsibilities:


  • Work closely with the development, product managers, marketing and sales teams
  • Design, development, execution, and automation of complex test scenarios for the FireEye network security and web-based malware detection solutions
  • Identify potential product issues and defects in the product and champion their successful resolution
  • Demonstrate significant ownership and contribution to the overall quality of the FireEye product suite
  • Facilitate and participate in the ongoing process enhancements efforts
  • Actively participate in the customer care meetings to gain first-hand knowledge and feedback from our growing user base in order to improve the way we do business

Job Requirements:


  • 5+ years of solid experience in network software QA
  • Thorough understanding of software QA testing and methodology
  • In-depth understanding and strong hands-on experience in TCP/IP networking
  • Deep packet inspection/decoding a definite plus
  • An ability to quickly design and implement ad hoc networks to explore and exercise network topology issues
  • Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, & analysis skills
  • Unix and Windows skills at the level of an system administrator
  • Test automation design & development using PERL, Python, PHP; The candidate should be able to write sophisticated tools from scratch, and not merely modify existing tools.
  • Prior working knowledge of malware, and Windows shell scripting, is a plus
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Excellent inter-personal and teamwork skills
  • Highly motivated and looking for significant challenge
  • BS/MS in computer science or equivalent experience
