Government Computer News Names FireEye's Malware Protection System as One of the Best Products in 2011

FireEye MPS Recognized for Ability to Stop APTs and Zero-Day Attacks

MILPITAS, Calif. - Nov 29, 2011 – FireEye, Inc., the leader in protecting enterprises from advanced malware, zero-day, and targeted advanced persistent threat (APT) attacks, announced today that its Malware Protection System (MPS) has been chosen by Government Computer News (GCN) as one of “The 11 Best Products of 2011.” GCN called FireEye MPS a “no brainer” for federal agencies given the “sophistication and malicious nature of hackers these days.”  Previously, FireEye’s MPS was named GCN’s Product of the Month in June 2011 for its ability to identify and defeat next-generation attacks that aggressively evade signature-based defenses and compromise the majority of today’s corporate networks.

Today’s advanced cyber-attacks easily bypass traditional signature-based security defenses such as traditional and next generation firewalls, IPS and gateways. In this evolving IT security threat landscape, next generation threat protection systems such as FireEye MPS are essential to protect corporate and federal networks against advanced malware, zero-day exploits, and targeted advanced persistent threat attacks.

“It is an honor to be recognized by the highly respected Government Computer News,” said Ashar Aziz, founder, CEO and CTO, FireEye. “Our Malware Protection System was designed to prevent breaches and other advanced attacks, and we are proud that so many government agencies have chosen to implement our solutions. To be recognized by GCN validates our ongoing efforts to keep agencies and corporations safe from these types of high-profile cyber attacks.”

The products named by GCN as top products of the year were previously named Product of the Month or received a Reviewer’s Choice designation earlier this year.
