FireEye Wins Interop Tokyo Best of Show Award For Email Malware Protection System

Next-Generation Threat Detection Company Selected for Industry-Leading Innovation

MILPITAS, Calif. - Jun 19, 2012 – FireEye®, Inc., the leader in stopping advanced targeted attacks, today announced the FireEye Email Malware Protection System (MPS) has been selected as a winner of the prestigious Interop Tokyo Best of Show Award in the security category for its innovative approach and leadership in helping enterprises and government agencies combat advanced cyber attacks.

The Best of Show Award winners were selected from among the products and solutions exhibited by more than 300 companies at Interop Tokyo 2012, with finalists chosen after rigorous examination by a panel of IT industry experts.

"Interop Tokyo is one of the most significant industry events in the Asia Pacific region and it's an honor to have won this top award," said Ashar Aziz, FireEye founder and CEO. "This honor provides further validation for our efforts to keep enterprises safe from high-profile cyber attacks with our unique product offering that identifies and blocks attacks across all major threat vectors and through each stage of the attack lifecycle."

The FireEye Email MPS secures against spear phishing email attacks that bypass anti-spam and signature- and reputation-based technologies. Spear phishing attacks have soared in popularity with the availability of user-specific information on social networks and other Internet properties. With all the personal information available online, a criminal can socially engineer  users into clicking on a URL or opening an attachment with a zero-day exploit, giving the criminal control of a privileged system and user accounts.

"It is a pleasure to see FireEye win this award," said Tsuyoshi Goto, Manager of Web Security Solution Team, Security Solution Department of SCSK Corporation.

"As a strategic partner of FireEye, we will continue to strengthen this partnership to provide the best services in the industry to our customers."
