The Women of FireEye: Defenders of Cyberspace
You could say FireEye is an outlier. In an industry dominated by men, FireEye has welcomed women and the value they bring to the field. Our female employees excel every day as researchers, engineers, and analysts. And we are the only company in the industry with four women holding top executive roles within the organization. Those women have recently received a lot of press both in and outside of the cyber security world for work well done.
First, there’s Womenetics, who featured all four women for shattering the glass ceiling in an industry not known for an overabundance of women. The article points out that while they’ve taken from very different career paths to get to their current positions, they’re connected by more than just cyberspace.
And they’re winners too. Kara Wilson, Senior VP and CMO of FireEye, was recognized with the Stevie Award for Marketing Executive of the Year. Chosen from among 3,700 nominations worldwide, she earned a silver award from the campaign.
The Recorder honored Alexa King, legal counsel for FireEye, as one of the top Women Leaders in Tech Law for 2015. She’s considered a power player who is using her position and achievements to advocate for women.
The channel team at FireEye was recognized for outstanding performance. Kristi Houssiere, our Senior Director of World Wide Partner Marketing, and Michele Campbell, our Senior Director of Global Partner Programs & Enablement, were recognized by The Channel Company’s as 2015 ‘Women of the Channel’ for their contributions.
These are just a few of the women who’ve received recognition of late, and there are more doing outstanding work behind the scenes every day. Our industry requires the top minds working together to stop breaches; we are proud to have the best of the best here at FireEye, men and women alike.
