At FireEye, we are proud that our customers feel protected against today’s most advanced threats as they perform regular business operations. But that’s not all – we also particularly pleased that our products and services enable our client’s to get a nice return on their investment.
To show the financial impact of FireEye on organizations, we commissioned Forrester Consulting to conduct The Total Economic Impact™ (TEI) of FireEye: Efficiently Improving Asset Protect with FireEye Network Security.
The study is based on interviews with four existing FireEye customers that have deployed our NX product and have been using the technology for longer than six months. For this case study, a composite organization is used to represent the composite feedback of interviews.
A complete financial analysis revealed that the composite organization experienced the risk-adjusted return on investment (ROI) and payback period shown in Figure 1. The analysis points to benefits of $1,264,635 versus costs of $502,082 [RR1] over three years, adding up to a net present value (NPV) of $762,553. [RR2]
Figure 1: Financial summary showing three-year risk-adjusted results
Based on the interviews, Forrester constructed a TEI framework for organizations considering a FireEye deployment, with the objective of the framework being to:
- Identify the cost, benefit, flexibility, and risk factors that affect the investment decision.
- Help organizations understand how to take advantage of specific benefits and reduce costs.
- Improve the overall business goals of winning, serving, and retaining customers.
The report is available here.
[RR1]It is worth highlighting that these are representative costs for that composite organization and that every organization’s cost and benefit will vary. Only reason to call out is that NX is perceived as expensive and $502K investment is way beyond the security budget for many (mid-market) organizations
[RR2]Can we call out the key factors that resulted in the positive value – just a quick glimpse of what contributed positively.
This also allows us to quickly layout the advantages of Network Security (NX).
