FireEye and Europol to Cooperate on Detecting Cybercrime Threats
Milpitas, Calif. – August 17, 2015—FireEye, Inc. (NASDAQ: FEYE), the leader in stopping today's advanced cyber attacks, today announced that it has concluded a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Europol's European Cybercrime Centre (EC3). The MoU allows for the exchange of knowledge and expertise on cybercrime, mainly in the areas of early detection of cybercrime threats and statistics on trends.
Wil van Gemert, Deputy Director of Operations at Europol said, "Law enforcement and private industry need to work together to effectively combat cybercrime, a growing problem on a global scale. The MoU with FireEye further strengthens our strategic cooperation with industry partners to target the criminals behind these crimes."
“The threat landscape is changing every day and organisations need to try and stay one step ahead of the attackers," said Richard Turner, president EMEA, FireEye. Working with Europol means that, as well as granting early access to FireEye's threat intelligence, FireEye will be able to respond to requests for assistance around threats or technical indicators of compromise in order to assist Europol combating the ever-increasing threat from cyber criminals.”
About FireEye, Inc.
FireEye has invented a purpose-built, virtual machine-based security platform that provides real-time threat protection to enterprises and governments worldwide against the next generation of cyber attacks. The core of the FireEye platform is a virtual execution engine, complemented by dynamic threat intelligence, to identify and block cyber attacks in real time. FireEye has over 3,700 customers across 67 countries, including 675 of the Forbes Global 2000.
