FireEye CEO Kevin Mandia Joins TechNet Executive Council
Mandia brings expert counsel on cyber threats that challenge the innovation economy and technology advancements in government and private industry
WASHINGTON — Oct. 17, 2017 - TechNet, the national, bipartisan network of innovation economy CEOs and senior executives, and FireEye, Inc. (NASDAQ: FEYE), the intelligence-led security company, today announced that FireEye CEO Kevin Mandia has been appointed to the Executive Council of TechNet, the national, bipartisan network of innovation economy CEOs and senior executives.
Mandia brings more than two decades of experience preparing and protecting Fortune 500 companies and global government organizations from cyber threats and will be instrumental to helping shape TechNet’s understanding of critical cyber security principles. As part of the council, Mandia will contribute his expertise to help advance policies that can strengthen the nation’s security posture while paving a path forward for America’s technology industry to flourish.
"While FireEye remains vigilant on the frontlines combatting cyber attacks, we understand that reducing risk requires significant cooperation and contributions from outside the technology industry. We need to establish global standards for peacetime behavior in cyberspace, and effective policy is key to making this happen. TechNet’s Executive Council brings together the right group of technology leaders to not only help shape cybersecurity policy, but also advance government initiatives that encourage innovation and promote economic growth,” said Mandia.
“Kevin Mandia brings an important perspective to our Executive Council as the tech industry engages policymakers on the best ways we can protect consumers, businesses, and governments during this era of relentless cyberattacks,” said Linda Moore, President and CEO of TechNet. “With a deep background in both the private sector and government, Kevin possesses a unique understanding of how public policy impacts business and innovation. He will help TechNet continue to make a real impact in the important policy debates taking place in our nation’s capital and across the country."
