FireEye Gets You Started in The Cloud Faster with AWS CloudFormation
FireEye is excited to be part of the AWS
CloudFormation Registry. AWS has introduced a public and
searchable registry containing non-AWS resource types that can be
published and maintained by the broader community. This will simplify
how customers are able to discover and consume non-AWS resources from
the registry. Leveraging the power of an open ecosystem is key to
helping FireEye’s customers with their security posture, ensuring best
practices can be found quickly and easily. FireEye has published our
CloudWatch template on the CloudFormation Registry (image below),
where mutual customers can find it or leverage it directly from our
FireEye Helix platform.
FireEye’s CloudFormation resource will
help mutual customers with their AWS CloudWatch logs. This will allow
customers to monitor and capture data and actionable insights about
applications, respond to system-wide performance changes, optimize
resource utilization, and get a unified view of operational health.
FireEye Helix uses this to understand if operational issues in cloud
applications are related to security incidents.
Customers of FireEye Helix can navigate
to the FireEye Helix CloudConnect portal to enable this integration.
After starting a new AWS CloudWatch integration, a customer will be
prompted for their Log Group Name and Region. This will utilize the
new CloudFormation registry by automatically creating the custom
resource for a customer's AWS account who can then deploy it in seconds.
