Supported Products

End-of-Support Policy

FireEye works to deliver the most innovative and robust products, and as such may periodically choose to discontinue specific products or product versions. This page is intended to communicate the guidelines and process for discontinuation of products in order to properly equip our customers to plan for updates, migration, and the evolution of their environment.

The End of Life process for FireEye appliances begins with the End of Sale announcement. This End of Sale announcement contains information on the product discontinuation, as well as the specific End of Sale date and End of Life date. FireEye will use commercially reasonable efforts to provide the End of Sale announcement a minimum of three (3) months prior to the effective End of Sale date.

An appliance is comprised of Hardware and Software. To augment the End of Life Process for an appliance, FireEye implements the following processes for Last Support Dates with respect to the Hardware and Software.

Hardware Last-Support Date

This applies to all Hardware and hardware components (firmware) distributed on a hardware platform. The Last-Support Date is five (5) years from the End of Sale date.

During the Hardware support period, FireEye will replace any failed components or product with new or reconditioned components or product (of equivalent or better quality) at the sole discretion of FireEye.

Software Last-Support Date

This policy applies to all Software.

FireEye OS, AFO OS, MIR OS, HX OS, PX OS, IA OS and MX OS

FireEye will support each Software General Availability (GA) release as follows:

  • Twelve (12) months from initial FEOS/HX OS/MX OS X.Y.0-GA and MIR OS/AFO OS/PX OS/IA OS X.Y.Z-GA release dates
  • At any one time, the two most current FEOS/HX OS/MX OS X.Y, MIR OS/AFO OS/PX OS/IA OS X.Y.Z releases are always supported

To provide time to upgrade, Extended Support for releases that have reached their End-of-Support date will be provided for six (6) months beyond the most current GA (available as of the End-of-Support date) release date.

Guest Image (GI) Updates

Typically, FireEye provides an updated set of GIs with each new FEOS release. These GI images may, or may not, be compatible with the previous FEOS release. Contact Technical Support before assuming that a particular set of GIs are backwards compatible.

Content Updates

Content updates will continue to be updated and provided for specific FEOS releases if either of the following statements is true:

  • FEOS release is under current support
  • At any one time, the three most current FEOS X.Y releases

Endpoint Agent Releases

FireEye will support each Endpoint Agent release as follows:

  • Eighteen (18) months from initial Endpoint Agent X.Y.0-GA release date
  • At any one time, the two most current Endpoint Agent X.Y.0-GA releases are always supported

Notes

After the End of Sale date for a FireEye appliance, new features may not be supported or provided for the specific Hardware involved. Also, emergency bug fixes and workarounds for a problem which is identified as related to the End of Sale Hardware, which is not seen in a supported Software release with non-End of Sale Hardware, may or may not be fixed, at FireEye’s sole discretion. Software upgrade, releases are also at FireEye’s discretion.

FireEye may choose to designate a last supported Software release for an End of Sale Hardware platform in which case, only the one designated FEOS/HX OS/MX OS X.Y or MIR OS/AFO OS/PX OS/IA OS X.Y.Z Software release will be supported on the specific platform until the Hardware Last Support Date. Patches and maintenance releases for severity one problems may be provided at FireEye’s discretion.

FireEye Custom Software Support

When an appliance transitions to the End of Life period, at the discretion of FireEye, Custom Software Support may be available as an exception. To be eligible for Custom Software Support, the customer must have a current and continuous support contract in place. Custom Software Support shall be subject to additional terms and conditions.
